Meet Our Judges: Five Global Visionaries Who Want to Watch Your Film
We’ve got a great lineup of Grand Judges for the Possible Futures Film Contest, including actors, activists, film directors, producers, and a Tibetan Buddhist master. Here’s a quick run-down:
Chris Eyre became the first Native American director to receive a national theatrical release with his first feature film, Smoke Signals. He’s got a long list of awards for his work as a film director and producer in documentary, television, and feature films.
Neil Huxley has directed commercials for globally recognized brands, as well as visual effects for major feature films, such as Watchmen, Avatar, and Sucker Punch. He produces innovative digital content as the current creative director of Mothership and Digital Domain.
You’ve probably seen Annie Leonard’s film, The Story of Stuff, which has generated over 12 million views in over 200 countries and territories. Annie knows a thing or two about sharing information in an engaging way to promote sustainable change.
Trudie Styler founded The Rainforest Foundation along with her husband, Sting, and is also a UNICEF Ambassador. In 1993, she launched a film production company focused on documentaries, and has since expanded into feature films, winning many awards along the way.
In 1992, Geshe Yong Dong walked for 10 days through the Himalaya Mountains to meet with His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, which is a pretty good background for someone who’s judging inspiring stories that will change the world. He has gained the Rajampa Geshe degree, the highest academic degree awarded in Tibetan monastic education, and is one of only a handful of masters in his tradition.
