About me:
I have been making films and music videos for our band ~ Seize the Day (the UK based radical folk band not the heavy rock guys!) ~ for the last ten years. We made films about climate change, genetic engineering, the plight of small and family farmers in America and India, and most recently, a film about our time as peace volunteers in Palestine and Israel.
The idea for this project came from a group of us thinking about beliefs and how they affect our lives and was made possible by Sean Reynolds, our producer. The team consisted of Rich Whistance, Theo Simon and Tim Freke. We worked well toge
What excites you about the The Possible Futures Film Contest? What's the most provocative aspect for you?
There is so much talent in the world...the reality tv shows that have become the prevalent prime time tv viewing in the western world have shown us that...and this competition gives some of the political, hopeful, caring and moving ideas that people can have, a platform.
It's a great idea and it's the right time...taking part has meant I've watched some truely incredible short films...I was in tears the first day I heard about the competition and there's nothing healthier than a good cry!
Where do you find inspiration? What (or who) gives you hope?
People inspire me, sometimes great people who do extraordinary things...but mostly you and me.
Everytime I see someone I know reach out and take another step towards their own or the worlds liberation I feel a sense of hope and excitement. We are without doubt all in this together and we will sink or swim - together!
How have stories shaped your life? What story does the world need to tell to shape a just and sustainable life?
I love stories...stories that tell of love and hope and equality and kindness.
Tell me more of those stories...the ones that come straight form one person's heart to anothers, with a little sprinkling of humour!
...and if 'Beliefs are the stories we tell to give our lives meaning'...then let our beliefs be ones of love and hope and kindness too...
