About me:

Ryan and Mandy are a young couple with a passion for sustainable community and personal growth. In order to fully realize this passion, we decided to bicycle 6500 miles around the USA and visit 100 sustainable communities, to film people choosing to go as deeply as possible into this new way of life. After meeting over 20,000 people and interviewing over 600 of them, we were greatly inspired about a positive future happening now in the USA, and we want to share what we learned with the world.

What excites you about the The Possible Futures Film Contest? What's the most provocative aspect for you?

Our mission, vision and values are fully aligned with this contests goals. There is already an abundance of media depicting our critical global problems. As more of these pressing issues are exposed and brought to the attention of the general public, we want to provide positive solutions-oriented media depicting the abundance of hope that we all can develop in these challenging times.

Where do you find inspiration? What (or who) gives you hope?

In addition to connecting with spirit and positive thinking we find inspiration through taking actions towards creating a positive reality. For us we see sustainable communities as inspiring and dynamic solutions that are a catalyst for change and that we want to be moving towards.

How have stories shaped your life? What story does the world need to tell to shape a just and sustainable life?

The stories of the prophesies of doom in 2012 have greatly shaped our lives. We believe that when we focus on the predictions of these negative prophesies, we may actually create the undesired outcome. We believe that the world needs to tell the story of people having real life experiences creating sustainable communities all over the USA and world, and thus helping turn the prophesies of doom and catastrophe in 2012 on their heads.People all over are proving right now that the world is already creating a new prophecy and outcome.
